Father Seriously Injured Running After 1 year-old That Was Ultimately Struck and Killed by a Truck in Pasco County

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a crash that killed a one year-old boy and seriously injured his father.

The incident occured today at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Moog Road near Morley Drove.

Troopers say that a Pasco County operations 2012 Chevy pickup was traveling eastbound on Moog Road, east of Morley Drive.

Jayden Joseph, age one, exited the residence of 5310 Moog Road via an open door and ran into the roadway.

His father, 26 year-old Frantz Joseph of Holiday, ran after the child and both entered the path of the Chevy and subsequently struck.

Jayden died at Florida Hospital North Pinellas.  Frantz was transported as a trauma alert to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with serious injuries.

The 52 year-old male driver of the Chevy was not physically injured in the crash.

The investigation continues.
