Father Shoots, Critically Injures Son During Argument in St. Petersburg


Detectives from the St. Petersburg Police are investigating a domestic related shooting that occurred at 6980 21st St., North at about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Investigators say that father and son were involved in an ongoing argument. Both the son, 41 year-old Austin Thomas Cornett, and his father, 63 year-old Craig James Cornett, had weapons.


Police say that the father shot his son during the argument. The son’s condition is listed as critical but stable at this time.

This case is under investigation. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
