FHP Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Starkey Road

A 33-year-old Bushnell motorcyclist died following a collision with a car in Pinellas County on Friday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on May 29, 2026, at approximately 2:47 p.m. at the intersection of Starkey Road and 115th Avenue North.

Troopers say a 29-year-old Spring Hill man was driving a Toyota Camry southbound on Starkey Road when he attempted to make a left turn onto 115th Avenue North. As the vehicle turned, it entered the path of an oncoming Aprilia motorcycle traveling northbound on Starkey Road.

The motorcycle struck the Toyota, causing serious injuries to the rider.

The 33-year-old Bushnell man was transported to an area trauma center, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Toyota was not reported to have suffered any serious injuries.

The roadway reopened at approximately 5:45 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
