A wrong way impaired driver kills a 32 year-old Riverview man Thursday evening.

On Thursday, January 14, 2016, at approximately 8:01 PM a crash occurred on US-41 north of Bayshore Road in Ruskin, Florida.
In a report received from Sgt Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), 56 year-old Jean Ann Petraits of Ruskin was driving a 2005 Chevy Express southbound in the northbound lanes of US-41. Her Chevy collided with a 2001 Honda Odyssey that was traveling in the correct northbound lanes of US-41. The two vehicles collided nearly head-on.
The driver of the Honda was killed at the scene of the crash. He has been identified as 32 year-old Rodney Keith Bell of Riverview. The preliminary report from FHP indicates Bell was not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash.
Petraits was transported to Tampa General Hospital with critical injuries and according to FHP, she was impaired at the time of the crash and also not wearing her seat-belt.
Charges are pending and the investigation continues.
