Fire at home in Largo sends one victim to the hospital

Firefighters from Largo Fire Rescue were dispatched to reports of a structure fire at 102 7th Avenue SW in Largo at approximately 6:12 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

The first arriving units reported the home was fully involved with fire. The fire was brought under control quickly as another crew cut holes in the roof to ventilate the home.

One adult female patient was treated at the scene and transported to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert. Multiple cats reportedly died as a result of the fire and smoke.

No information is available at this time regarding the cause the fire.
