Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating a shooting homicide outside the Emporium Lounge in the 10300 block of Gandy Boulevard in Unincorporated St. Petersburg.
It occurred at approximately 4:13 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020.
Investigators say there was a large altercation inside the Emporium Lounge which, at the time, was holding several hundred patrons. Large groups of people, including the victim, exited the club and were gathered in the parking lot.
The shooter was leaving in his vehicle when he opened fire striking the victim, 24 year-old Jametric Facyson.
Facyson was was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Shortly after the shooting, police and fire rescue responded to a vehicle crash southbound I-275 near the 54th Avenue N exit ramp. The driver of the crashed SUV was 32 year-old Gai Marwil of Largo. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies have charged Gai Marwil of Largo with 1st degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

And there’s a hold on this guy from ICE- why wasn’t there a hold for him following his other 7 arrests in Pinellas County alone?? Does someone have to be murdered before they think that is a good idea? So much focus on illegal immigrants, after the first felony it shouldn’t even be a question if they can stay in the U.S!!
Update- police DID have a hold on him following a high speed chase and narcotics arrest and prison stint… and they let him go.
ah, guilty. this guy obviously did not care enough about black lives.
