Homicide investigation underway after shooting in St. Petersburg

Detectives from the St. Petersburg Police Department are investigating an early morning shooting death.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 in the 400 block of 50th Avenue N. for a person shot.

Trent Krystoff, age 19, was found outside with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The investigation continues and the Department reports that no suspect is in custody at this time.
