Palm Harbor Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash on Alderman Road

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a crash involving a motorcyclist in Palm Harbor.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of Alderman Road at Omaha Street at approximately 6:21 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
The injured motorcyclist was transported to Florida Hospital North Pinellas via Sunstar Paramedics with life-threatening injuries.
According to a preliminary report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), 86 year-old George Giannakoulias of Palm Harbor was driving a 2006 Chevy Malibu northbound on East Ridge Drive approaching Alderman Road.
42 year-old Brian Mueller of Palm Harbor was traveling east on Alderman Road in the outside lane approaching East Ridge Drive on a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
FHP reports that Giannakoulias stopped for the posted stop sign then continued into the path of Mueller resulting in the collision. Â Mueller was not wearing a helmet according to the report.
Alcohol did not play a role in the crash according to investigators.
Neither Giannakoulias nor his 3 passengers were injured in the crash.
The investigation continues.
