“Just Ducky” After Firefighters Rescue Duckling in Seminole This Evening

March 29, 2014

Crew members from Seminole Fire Rescue’s Truck 29 were called out to assist with rescuing a duckling that fell into a storm drain.  The call came through the Pinellas County 911 center from a citizen who watched the duckling fall though the grate.  The mother duck was standing above the grate looking down below at its baby.

It was in the area of 102nd Avenue and Seminole Blvd.

The fire apparatus responded in a non-emergency status and remained available for emergent calls during the almost one hour long operation.

The duckling was removed from the maze of drain tunnels and reunited with its mother in a nearby pond.

Great job to Lt. Scott Eddinger and Firefigher/EMT John Perry for their efforts.
