On, March 3, 2022, detectives from the Largo Police Department arrested 69 year-old Jarry Thomas Bowen.
Their investigation began in June 2021 after a Largo Police Detective received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children (NCMEC) as part of his duties in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force.
Information was made available from Google that revealed that Bowen had uploaded more than 200 files into Google Drive, more than 100 were images of children. Throughout the investigation, a search warrant was obtained, and additional information was gathered against Bowen which verified the tip and images received.
On March 3, 2022, a residential search warrant was executed at Bowen’s residence with the assistance of Largo PD’s Team for Tactical Apprehension and Control (T.A.C.). Bowen was taken into custody without incident and admitted to his involvement with child pornography over the past 10 years.
Bowen was transported to the Pinellas County Jail on 10 counts of possession of child pornography and 1 count of transmission of child pornography.
The case is still open pending forensic reviews of the evidence retrieved from the search warrant.
