Officers from the Largo Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at/near the intersection of Belcher Road and East Bay drive at approximately 3:42 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female and her vehicle that were in the parking lot of the Verizon store located on the northwest corner of the intersection. The woman, also the caller to 911, reported that she shot the male subject. The male was located across East Bay Drive in front of the Chase Bank.
The male reportedly suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived to the scene and rendered aid to the male shooting victim and he was rushed to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
All lane of East Bay Drive were closed for several hours just to the west of Belcher Road during the investigation.
No information has been released from the Largo Police Department.
It is unknown if any charges are pending against either individual or the current medical status of the shooting victim.
