Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a water rescue on Clearwater Beach. The call for service came in just before 6 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021.
The incident occurred behind the Edge Hotel located at 505 S. Gulfview Blvd on Clearwater Beach.
An adult male dove nto the water from a dock behind the hotel and came up non-responsive immediately thereafter.
He was transported to Morton Plant Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
