Man Facing Attempted Murder Charges After Stabbing His Mother 12 Times in Seminole
Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Seminole shortly after 5 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 after being made aware that a victim suffered multiple stab wound in a home located at 10332 Cirimoya Lane in Seminole.

Jonathan McGinley, age 26 of Seminole, was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail and facing charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.
Deputies were investigating after McGinley was reportedly missing from the home starting at approximately 2 p.m. on September 13, 2018 until about 4:50 a.m. on September 14, 2018.
According to the arrest affidavit, McGinley was returned home after not meeting criteria for a Baker Act. It is reported that McGinley then entered a bathroom where his family member was praying and proceeded to stab her with a large kitchen knife, 12 times in the chest, pelvis, and her legs.
McGinley reportedly admitted to intentionally trying to kill her because the voices in his head told him to do so.
The victim was transported to the trauma center at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious injuries.
