Man Injured in Drive-by Shooting in St. Pete Beach

51 year-old Kurt Alan Lang of Dallas, Texas, was shot in St. Pete Beach at about 12:16 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017.

According to investigators, Lang was walking with his cousin northbound on the west side of Gulf Blvd when they heard what sounded like a firecracker.

Lang, grabbed his chest and said he thought he had just been shot.  The victim reported he observed a white vehicle driving at normal speeds at the time of the shooting. Lang walked over to the Beachcomber Resort, 6200 Gulf Boulevard and called 911.

Deputies say Lang was treated and transported to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. His injury appeared to be consistent with a small caliber round.

Deputies say about an hour later they received another call in the area 6850 Beach Plaza, St. Pete Beach, reference a possible white Chevy Impala with four subjects in it driving around with no head lights and the driver was partially out the window with a possible rifle, the driver was only described as possibly a Hispanic or white male, the complainant was unsure of the description. This incident was called in approximately an hour after the subject had been shot. The caller stated he saw the emergency vehicles and decided to make a late report to deputies.

Deputies are attempting to identify and arrest the suspect at this time.
