Motorcyclist Dies After Losing Control of Harley in Treasure Island

Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a fatal single motorcycle crash in Treasure Island. 

The crash occurred at approximately 8:11 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019.

According to investigators, 62-year-old Randy Hill of Seminole was leaving the parking lot of Ricky T’s Bar and Grille Restaurant, located at 10601 Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island, on his 2014 Harley Davidson.

Witnesses say Hill sped off erratically from the parking lot, heading eastbound on 106th Avenue toward Milliken Court, when he lost control of the motorcycle.

Hill was ejected from the motorcycle and investigators say not wearing a helmet.

Hill sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Palms of Pasadena Hospital, the closest hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Deputies say It is unknown at this time if impairment was a factor in the crash.

Traffic along Gulf Blvd was not affected. The crash did close a stretch of 106th Avenue during the investigation.

The investigation continues.
