Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating the death of a motorcyclist following a crash on I-275.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022.
The helmeted motorcyclist, only identified as a 33 year-old male from Tampa, was traveling northbound along the I-275 exit ramp leading to 31st Street South when the rider failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
Troopers say the motorcycle entered the center median ejecting from the rider who then collided with a guardrail, suffering fatal injuries.
Upon impact, the motorcycle continued over the guardrail and came to final rest in the inside lane of the southbound entrance ramp.
