Scooter operator seriously injured in crash on Drew Street in Clearwater

Officers from the Clearwater Police Department are currently on-scene investigating a serious injury crash involving a scooter operator.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the intersection of Drew Street and Hillcrest Avenue.

The 53-year-old male on the scooter was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg via LifeLine helicopter after the crash and reportedly in critical condition.

The female driver of the Ford Fusion was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

All lanes of Drew Street between Evergreen and Orangeview are closed as the investigation is conducted.
