Podcast: Slow Down Move Over

While it is not currently Slow Down Move Over (SDMO) Awareness Month, IONTB has recorded a podcast on this very important topic. Awareness of this law helps to keep all of our first responders and service professionals safe while doing their job helping others.

In summary, when approaching vehicles with flashing lights, including emergency vehicles, sanitation vehicles, utility service vehicles, or tow trucks please do the following

1. Vacate the lane closest to the vehicle with two or more lanes traveling in the direction of the vehicle
2. If unable to switch lanes safely, slow speed to 20 mph or less than posted speed limit (speed limit 25 mph or greater). Slow to 5 mph when posted speed is 20 mph or less
3. Be prepared to allow those who are attempting to move over into the next lane.

Episode 1: Slow Down Move Over (22:10)
Guest: Jennifer Fabrizio, SDMO Advocate

Additional information regarding the 1st Annual SDMO Awareness Ride is posted below. It will be held this Saturday, May 15, 2021.

We will be working to get the podcast episodes posted soon to your favorite podcast apps (Apple, Google, Spotify, Stitcher, Tunein, etc).

It has been almost 13 years since the inception of IONTB. Our operating expenses are not huge by any stretch of imagination but funds are necessary for our continued survival.  We are asking for a one time contribution or contribution on a monthly basis to help continue IONTB to flourish and enhance the coverage of news in the Tampa Bay area. Think of it as just giving up just a couple of your favorite coffee drinks each month.
