Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Dunedin Crash
A crash in Dunedin left a Oldsmar motorcyclist seriously injured. The crash occurred at approximately 7:34 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25. 2018.
Gabriel Dalrymple, age 34, was traveling on a 1993 Harley Davidson near the intersection of State Road 580 and Heather Ridge Boulevard.
According to investigators, 55 year-old Jeffrey Shore of Dunedin was driving his 2007 Dodge Ram east on SR 580, attempting to make a northbound left turn onto Heather Ridge Boulevard.
Deputies say that traffic in the two westbound lanes of SR 580 slowed to allow Shore to make the left turn.
At about that same time, Dalrymple was westbound on SR 580 in the curb lane approaching Heather Ridge Boulevard when Shore’s truck turned in front of Dalrymple’s motorcycle.
Dalrymple’s Harley Davidson crashed into the passenger side of Shore’s Dodge truck and Dalrymple was ejected off the motorcycle.
Investigators say Dalrymple was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital for life threatening injuries.
Shore refused medical treatment at the scene.
Dalrymple was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Investigators don’t believe impairment nor speed were factors in the crash.
Shore was issued a citation for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
The investigation continues.
