Motorcyclist Sustains Life Threatening Injuries in Bay Pines Crash

The Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a single vehicle motorcycle crash that injured a 62 year-old man from Quebec, Canada.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:03 p.m. on Thursday, November 01, 2018 on Bay Pines Boulevard just west of 95th Street in Seminole.

According to investigators, a 62 year-old Guy Valois was operating his 2009 White Suzuki VZR18 motorcycle eastbound on Bay Pines Boulevard in Seminole. Investigators say as the motorcycle operator approached 95th Street, he merged into the left turn lane in front of 9565 Bay Pines Boulevard.

The motorcycle operator then struck the median separating the turn lane from the left turn lane for 95th Street. The impact caused the motorcycle operator to lose control of his motorcycle and was subsequently ejected.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the motorcycle operator to Bayfront Heath St. Petersburg where it was reported he sustained life threatening injuries.

Alcohol, speed, and impairment do not appear to be a factors in this crash according to the M.A.I.T.

The investigation continues.
