Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an apparent murder-suicide shooting involving an adult male and his roommate/brother-in-law in unincorporated St. Petersburg. Deputies were called to their residence located at 4052 46th Avenue North, Apt. #1 in St. Petersburg at about 11:16 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
Deputies were ask to conduct a welfare check on 61-year-old Keith Harvey, after he had not been heard from in several days. Once deputies arrived on-scene, they forced entry into the home due to suspicious circumstances.
Detectives say once deputies entered, they discovered Harvey’s roommate/brother-in-law, 56-year-old Stephen McCrave deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Deputies also found Harvey deceased in another room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Detectives believe Harvey shot McCrave, and then took his own life. Several suicide notes were found inside the home.
Next of kin has been notified.
