Pedestrian critically injured in crash while crossing Tampa Road in Palm Harbor

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian critically injured. The crash occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021.

Investigators say that the driver of the vehicle, a 45 year-old Oldsmar resident, was traveling westbound on Tampa Road west of Alt-19. At the same time, a 23 year-old pedestrian from Dunedin was walking northbound across the roadway and entered the path of the vehicle.

The pedestrian suffered critical injuries when getting struck by the vehicle. The air transport unit landed at Palm Harbor University High School then transported the injured pedestrian to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

The driver of the vehicle was not physically injured in the crash.
