Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Pinned by Vehicle in CVS Parking Lot

Emergency crews were dispatched to a traffic incident on Tuesday morning. It occurred at approximately 11:08 am in the parking lot of CVS on the northeast corner of Park Blvd and Starkey Road (7405 Starkey Road).
According to deputies, the 87-year-old pedestrian, Florianne Daprile of Seminole was standing near her car with her cart when the driver of a 2002 Chrysler 300 began to back out of a parking space. The driver of the Chrysler, identified as 88-year-old Moonyeen Everett of Seminole backed in to Daprile, pinning her under the right front wheel. The driver of the Chrysler then continued to drive, dragging Daprile several feet before coming to stop.
Arriving crews from Seminole Fire Rescue and Sunstar requested the response of Bayflite to transport Daprile to a trauma center. Her injuries are being described as life-threatening.
The driver of the Chrysler was not injured during the crash.
It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were related to the incident.
The investigation continues.
