According to deputies, the 87-year-old pedestrian, Florianne Daprile of Seminole was standing near her car with her cart when the driver of a 2002 Chrysler 300 began to back out of a parking space. The driver of the Chrysler then continued to drive, dragging Daprile several feet before coming to stop.

Arriving crews from Seminole Fire Rescue and Sunstar requested the response of Bayflite to transport Daprile to a trauma center.  Her injuries are being described as life-threatening.

The driver of the Chrysler was not injured during the crash.

It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were related to the incident.
