Deputies say the pedestrian, a 67-year-old female, was walking from east to west, in the crosswalk, on 49th Street South at 20th Avenue South, when she was struck by the Lexus vehicle.

The female pedestrian was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where she was later pronounced deceased from injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash, however they say the weather and a poorly lit roadway are factors in this crash.

Next of kin has not been notified.

The investigation continues.
