Pedestrian killed crossing Missouri Avenue in Largo

Officers from the Largo Police Department responded to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 6:54 p.m. on December 15, 2020.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Missouri Avenue and Auburn Street.

Investigators say that a female pedestrian was crossing westbound against the red light when she was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was traveling northbound and entered the intersection with a green light. 

The pedestrian was transported to Largo Medical Center Hospital where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on-scene and cooperated with the investigation. Investigators say that alcohol does appear to be a factor with the pedestrian, but not the driver of the vehicle.
