Personal aircraft crashes at end of runway at Albert Whitted Airport

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to Albert Whitted
Airport located at 500 8th Ave. SE., St. Petersburg, Florida at approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

Units arriving on scene they found a small personal aircraft that had crashed at the end of the runway.

There were three people on board at the time of the accident and all were uninjured.

The cause of a crash is being investigated and the scene was turned over to the airport personnel and they will be handling the salvage operations of the plane.

There’s no fuel spill or leaks that occurred during the accident.

The aircraft is a Velocity 173 Elite FG registered out of Orlando.


It has been almost 13 years since the inception of IONTB.
