Police investigating homicide near dock off Hampton Lake Drive in Tampa

Officers from the Tampa Police Department responded to the report of a “male down” near a neighborhood lake dock at approximately 7:16 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022. The call for service was in the 8000 block of Hampton Lake Drive.

Upon arrival, officers and firemedics from Tampa Fire Rescue found an approximately 40ish year-old male with upper body trauma.

While it is very early in the investigation, detectives do not believe this is a random act. Investigators are continuing to develop leads in the case.
