Resident Shoots Intruder at Clearwater Home

William Kahle, the man who was shot Nov. 30 after breaking into a home at 1501 Cleveland St., has died. The 31-year-old had been at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg since the shooting. He died from his injuries on Sunday afternoon.

Clearwater Police are on scene of a shooting at 1501 Cleveland Street the occurred at about 9:38 a.m.
The preliminary investigation shows that the male resident encountered an intruder at his residence and shot him.
The intruder who was shot has been identified as a 31-year-old William Kahle.
Kahle has a lengthy criminal history.
He remains in critical condition at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
The resident who shot him is cooperating with detectives; no charges are planned against him.
