Riverview Woman Killed in Hillsborough County Motorcycle Crash
Tampa Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
Tampa Police officers responded to a single vehicle motorcycle crash at N 30th Street and 109th Avenue.
According to witnesses, the 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was travelling south on N. 30th St in the curb lane at a high rate of speed.
As the motorcycle passed the railroad tracks, it began to wobble. The motorcyclist, 19 year-old April Havens, lost control and the motorcycle struck the curb.
Havens, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle which continued south; coming to rest after striking a vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn on N. 30th Street.
There were no occupants in the parked vehicle. Tampa Fire Rescue transported Havens to Florida Hospital-Fletcher where she was pronounced deceased.
