Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrived quickly along with crews from Seminole, Largo, Pinellas Park, Lealman, Sunstar, and the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash involved at least three vehicles, a Ford Expedition, Jeep Cherokee, and a Chevy Equinox.  The Jeep came to rest on its side with the Ford nearby heavily damaged.  The Chevy also showed signs of heavy front end damage and came to rest slightly east of the intersection.

Multiple witnesses reported that the Jeep was heading southbound violating the red light while heavy traffic flowed in the east/west direction.  FHP arrived on scene and will be conducting the investigation into the crash.

At least one occupant from each vehicle was transported to the hospital for their injuries.  One occupant from both the Jeep and the Ford were transported as trauma alerts to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg via Sunstar Paramedics.  Injuries did not appear life-threatening.

The crash closed all northbound and eastbound traffic during the investigation and until the vehicles could be removed from the roadway.
