Second Victim Dies Following Sunday’s Jet Ski Crash Near Courtney Campbell
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) continues to investigate a fatal boating accident that involved the collision of two jet skis in the waters near the Courtney Campbell Causeway on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
One jet ski was being operated by 42-year-old Alberto Fernandez of Tampa.
The other jet ski involved in the crash was operated by 41-year-old Helen Gore of Clearwater.
Fernandez sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment where he was later pronounced deceased.
Gore was transported to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. According to FWC, Ms. Gore has subsequently passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.
The investigation is active and ongoing according to FWC.
