Single Vehicle Crash on Belcher Road in Palm Harbor Results in Serious Injuries to Tarpon Springs Man
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continues to investigate a crash overnight that seriously injured 27 year-old Oshane Ryan Porrey of Tarpon Springs.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 as Porrey was driving his 2013 Kia Forte at a high rate of speed northbound on Belcher Road approaching Alderman Road
Troopers say that as a result of a high rate of speed, he lost control of the vehicle which rotated onto the east shoulder of the roadway.
The Kia struck the raised curb and overturned multiple times. As the vehicle rolled, it collided with a traffic sign, Duke Energy power box, Verizon Cable junction box, Brighthouse phone box and a chain link fence before coming to rest on the shoulder north of Alderman Road.
Porrey was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where troopers say his has serious injuries.
FHP reports that the crash was alcohol related.
