Child dead following St. Petersburg crash that injured three others

Investigators from the St. Petersburg Police Department continue to investigate following a vehicle crash at the intersection of 34th Street S and 15th Avenue. The crash killed 11 year-old Stephen Johnson.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020.

Investigators say that a 2006 Honda sedan was traveling southbound on 34th St. S. The Honda struck a 2006 Chrysler sedan that was traveling northbound before attempting to turn left onto 15th Ave. S.

Johnson, two adults and another child were transported to area hospitals after the crash.  The three injured victims were all listed in stable condition as of early this morning according to police.

Lanes of 34th Street remained closed during the investigation.

The investigation remains active.
