ST. PETERSBURG — St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to an automatic fire alarm at approximately 7:07 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2026, at 400 Central Avenue and discovered heavy smoke conditions coming from a fourth-floor parking garage.
Upon arrival, firefighters located two vehicles that were fully involved in fire on the fourth level of the garage. Crews quickly established a water supply to the fourth floor and began fire suppression operations.
A total of 20 St. Petersburg Fire Rescue units and approximately 40 firefighters responded to the scene. Firefighters were able to rapidly extinguish both vehicle fires, preventing the flames from spreading beyond the two vehicles and limiting damage to the immediate area.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
