A 90 year-old man died after running a red light and crashing into another vehicle at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
The elderly man was driving westbound on 62nd Ave N in a 2005 Lincoln sedan. Investigators say he ran the red light at 1st Street North. He collided with a 2017 Toyota pick-up truck that was heading northbound on 1st street North and was attempting to make a left turn onto 62nd Avenue.
The 90-year-old man driving the Lincoln was injured and transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. He died this morning at 3:35 a.m.Â
