St. Petersburg Police investigating after a man robbed the BB&T Bank on 37th Ave N in St. Petersburg.
Around 11am today, police received a call about a bank robbery at the BB&T Bank located at 182 37th Ave North.
The suspect told a teller he had a bomb inside a bag he was carrying, and demanded money.
The suspect dropped the bag on his way out and left the bank premises in a black BMW.
Due to the bomb threat, the Tampa Bomb Squad was called to the scene. They investigated and found there was no explosive device.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 30’s around 5’5 – 5’8inches tall with a medium build.
