St. Petersburg Teen and Her Unborn Child Killed in Pasco County Crash

Emily Pearson, age 16 of St. Petersburg, was killed in a vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:11 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), 75 year-old Margaret Wallace of Hudson was traveling westbound in a 1997 Nissan Maxima on the private drive of 13752 Little Road, south of Hudson Avenue.

Pearson was a passenger in a 1997 Ford Ranger driven by 19 year-old James Dunn of St. Petersburg.  Dunn was traveling northbound on Little Road in the inside lane, south of Hudson Avenue.

Troopers say that Wallace exited the private drive and entered the path of Dunn’s Ranger which struck on the passenger side of the Maxima.

Emily Pearson and her seven month old unborn child died from injuries sustained during the crash.

Neither Dunn nor Wallace were transported to the hospital as a result of the crash.

Investigators say that Pearson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Charges are pending as FHP continues their investigation.
