Subject Captured After Fleeing Crash in Pinellas Park

Posted: October 12, 2015 – 10PM

51 year-old Michael Lamar Brewer fled after a vehicle crash at approximately 8 PM on October 11, 2015.  The crash occurred at 5498 Park Blvd in Pinellas Park which left one vehicle on its side.  The vehicle came to rest in the parking lot of Church’s Chicken.

According to the arrest affidavit, Brewer fled prior to law enforcement arrival because he knew he was wanted by law enforcement and his license was suspended.  The driver of the other vehicle was injured and transported to the hospital with neck and shoulder injuries.

Brewer resisted being taken into custody when officers caught up with him. He was already wanted in connection with an incident earlier that same day.  Brewer is accused of committing felony battery on a woman whom he was dating for approximately 20 years.  The victim’s daughter claimed to see him slapping and choking her.  The victim had multiple marks across her face and neck to support the accusation according to arrest documentation.

Brewer is facing charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, habitual driving with a suspended license, resisting an officer with violence, and felony domestic battery.

He currently resides at the Pinellas County Jail and is being held on $22,600 bail.
