Homicide under investigation at abandoned Pinellas Park residence

The Pinellas Park Police Department is investigating a death at 6035 Park Blvd.  The call for service was at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male inside the residence, at which time it was learned that a friend of the deceased had stopped by to see him and discovered his body.

Detectives responded to the scene and began conducting a death investigation. During the course of the investigation, detectives have determined the deceased subject was 65 year-old Joseph Alan Maiden, a homeless subject who had been staying inside the residence over an extended period of time. Detectives also determined that Mr. Maiden was the victim of a homicidal act and died as a result of blunt force trauma to the upper body. While the investigation is ongoing detectives believe Mr. Maiden’s death was not a random act.

As this is an active homicide investigation no further information will be released at this time.
