SWAT on-scene of barricaded subject in Hillsborough County

Update 9 p.m.
After approximately 4 hours, HCSO Crisis Negotiators with SWAT Team members were able to peacefully resolve the standoff with the barricaded subject. The subject peacefully exited his home and was taken into custody under the Florida Baker Act for mental evaluation. All roads have been reopened and residents have been allowed to return home.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies are currently on scene of a residence on Tanana Fall Drive in Ruskin reference a dispondent adult male who is barricaded in his home and has threatened suicide with a firearm.
As a precautionary measure, deputies have evacuated the adjoining homes.
HCSO Crisis Negotiators are on scene and will attempt to make contact with individual to negotiate a peaceful resolution.
