Tampa Motorcyclist Killed In Early Morning I-275 Crash on Howard Frankland Bridge

A 64-year-old Tampa man was killed in a motorcycle crash on southbound Interstate 275 on the Howard Frankland Bridge early Tuesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 @ 4:35 a.m. near the 35-milepost of southbound I-275.

Troopers said the man was operating a Honda motorcycle in the outside center lane when he changed lanes into the path of a Kia Soul traveling in the outside lane. The Kia was driven by a 48-year-old woman from Lakewood Ranch.

The motorcycle was struck by the Kia, and the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

No additional injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
