Tampa Woman Critically Injured After Driving Her Vehicle in Front of a SUV Traveling on Dale Mabry
Alana Posluszny, age 21 of Tampa, was critically injured in a crash that occurred on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at approximately 3:07 p.m. The crash occured at the intersection of Dale Mabry Hwy and Lazy Lane.
According to investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Posluszny was traveling eastbound on Lazy Lane in a 2001 Toyota Solara. She reportedly entered the southbound lanes of Dale Mabry despite a posted stop sign and into the path of a 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer.
The TrailBlazer was being driven by 92 year-old Robert O’Malley of Tampa. O’Malley was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with minor injures.
Posluszny was transported with critical injuries to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Charges are listed as pending as the investigation continues. FHP reports that both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in the crash.
The northbound lanes of Dale Mabry Hwy reopened at approximately 5:45 p.m.
