The Tarpon Springs Police Department responded to a deceased person in the woods just off the Pinellas trail at approximately 1:45 pm, on Saturday, July 2, 2022. It was in the area between Meres Boulevard and Curlew Place
According to investigators, it appears as if the person had overdosed. The scene was processed by Detectives from Tarpon Springs Police Department, the Pinellas County Medical Examiners Office and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Forensics unit.

Investigators have identified the subject, but his next of kin has not been notified yet. Investigation is still on going, but it doesn’t appear that their are any signs of foul play.
