Florida Highway Patrol Troopers continue to investigate a crash that injured a 14 year-old boy crossing US Hwy 19 just north of Alderman Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020.
An SUV driven by a 63 year-old female from Holiday was traveling northbound on US Hwy 19 in the left center lane just north of Alderman Road. A second vehicle, a van, was operated by a 70 year-old male from New Port Richey and traveling northbound behind the SUV.
The 14 year-old male pedestrian was walking along the east shoulder of the roadway and attempted to run across the highway. Bayflite 3 landed on US Hwy 19 to transport the teen to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. Troopers say he suffered serious injuries.
