PARRISH – Three people were killed in a horrific crash in Manatee County Monday afternoon. The crash happened about 1:50 PM on County Road 675 at 161st Avenue East.
FHP says a dump truck was northbound on CR 675 and drifted onto the shoulder before overcorrecting and crossing into the path of a Ford Explorer.
The vehicles collided head-on on the southbound shoulder. A man and two women from Plant City in the Explorer were pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver, a 59-year-old man from Palmetto, was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
