Troopers investigate crash involving a pedestrian death along 34th Street in St. Petersburg

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continue to investigate a crash that killed a pedestrian. The crash occurred at approximately 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Troopers say a 24 year-old male pedestrian was walking northbound on the sidewalk at the driveway entrance of 5500 34th Street North.

A 28 year-old male from Clearwater was operating a pickup truck southbound on 34th Street North in the outside lane at the driveway entrance of 5500 34th Street North.

The pickup truck collided with the pedestrian while the pedestrian was attempting to cross the driveway entrance. 

He was transported to an area hospital and later died from his injuries.
