Two Arrested After Off-Duty Pinellas Deputy Thwarts Auto Burglary in Pinellas Park

Officers from the Pinellas Park Police Department (PPPD) were dispatched to the Sam’s Club Warehouse on Tuesday afternoon.

The call for service came in about 12:12 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 7001 Park Blvd in Pinellas Park.

Based on available information from an arrest affidavit, an off-duty Pinellas deputy observed Gary Tribou of Pinellas Park reaching into an unsecured, 2004 Black Mercedes-Benz.  Tribou was detained until officers arrived from Pinellas Park Police.

Addional units from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office also responded.

Tribou is facing charges of Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

A second man, Norman White of Pinellas Park, was also arrested in the incident.  It is reported that the charges stem from being a “lookout” and assisting Tribou.
