Two dead in vehicle crash on MCI drive in Pinellas Park

The Pinellas Park Police Department and Pinellas Park Fire Rescue Department responded to a vehicle crash at approximately 9:27 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

The crash occurred in the 10100 block of MCI drive where a single vehicle was heavily damaged after colliding with a tree.

Investigators believe the single vehicle involved in the crash, a 1979 Corvette, failed to negotiate a turn on MCI drive and left the roadway striking the tree. Both occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver was identified as 56 year-old Eric Deshaies of Clearwater and the passenger as 42 year-old Brian Tomasek of Ruskin.

It is unknown if impairment played a role in the crash as the investigation continues. Investigators say that speed was likely a factor in the crash.
