On Saturday, October 18, 2014, officers from the Pinellas Park Police Department, Pinellas Park Fire Department, Largo Fire Rescue and Sunstar Paramedics responded to a traffic crash at 126th Avenue N. and 66th St N.  The crash occurred about 9:30 PM.

It was reported that two adult females were down on the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. One of the females was pronounced dead at the scene. The other female was transported to Bayfront Health – St Petersburg, and remains in critical condition.

Parts of that intersection are shared by Pinellas Park Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, and Largo Police Department.  Based on the point of impact, the investigation was led by the Pinellas Park Police Department.

Through their investigation, they determined that the females were crossing the roadway from the east side of 66th Street to the west side. A 2002 Oldsmobile van travelling south on 66th St in the far right lane struck both females who were reported to have been running across the roadway.

The van was driven by 58 year-old Tereza Allen of Largo. There were no passengers in the van and Allen was not injured. Allen has a valid driver’s license and was not under the influence of any intoxicating substances or chemicals.

The woman who died at the scene has been identified as 40 year-old Dawn Marie Fattarusso of Clearwater. The other woman who was struck has been identified as 55 year-old Rosemary Stone of Pinellas Park.

According to Pinellas Park Police, Fattarusso and Stone were intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The roadway was closed for five hours while the crash was investigated.

This case remains open and the investigation is active.

This is the same intersection where two pedestrian died October 14, 2014  in the northbound lanes.  That crash was investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
